Spring into Summer with Blush

Blush is such an essential part of my makeup routine, so I thought I would share with you girls my favorite blushes of the moment and ones I will be using A-LOT in the upcoming summer months. What I also love about these blushes is most of the colors would look good on many different skin tones, even though it may not look that way with my pale arm below. I always put my blush on last in my routine (no reason why) and that step always makes me feel like I am ready to conquer the day. Try it out, maybe you will feel that way too!

Benefit Rockateur

I have had this product since it made its debut last year. I really love how it is the perfect rosy-tan color. You can totally get away with using no bronzer when you apply this. So it’s great for “I have no time for anything” mornings. It may look super shimmering in the packaging, but I promise its the perfect about of dewy/glowy finish on the cheeks.

Dior Nude Tan Paradise Blush and Bronzer Duo

This is such a beautiful product. The packaging, the colors, the little Dior brush it came with, heaven!! This made its debut last summer and I went running for it (so unlike me, NOT!). I love to swish my brush all over this and it creates the most gorgeous bronzy/tan color, they did a good job with naming it. Now, don’t be mad at me, this is currently unavailable online, but I am pretty sure they will bring this back out during the summer again. So be on the lookout!

NARS Madly

I love this because it is perfect for not being so “blushy” if you know what I mean (just go with me on this one). Perfect for you gals out there who don’t like the pinky tone in most blushes. It leaves a soft tan color, but still brightens you up. Highly recommend you just try it on and you’ll see what I mean.

Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum Pop

Super crazy color in the packaging, super gorgeous on. I have been wearing this almost everyday. I love to put it right behind my the apples of my cheeks right after I put on my bronzer. The texture to this blush is so lovely too, very buttery. Clinique came out with four different shades as well in the line, which are also very pretty. Check ‘em out!

MAC Power Blush Blushbaby

Another go-to when I don’t want my blush to stand out too much. I love using this one when I have a bad blemish on my cheek because it has ZERO shimmer to it. It also has pretty good staying power. This is one of the first MAC blushes I owned and love it as much since the first day I bought it. That says a lot people.

My Top 5 Mascaras: High-end and Drugstore

I have had many trial and errors with many mascaras. It can be tricky since there are about a million out there. Obviously I have not tried all of them, but I have tried many (believe me on this one). Now, my momma did bless me with some pretty long lashes, so I tend to look for mascaras that give a little more volume. But I promise these mascaras will work for anyone and give awesome results.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

This tiny mascara is hands down the best mascara for the bottom lashes. The brush is so tiny and perfect and it still does an awesome job at extending those teeny lashes. I’ve also never had a problem with smudging, +10 points in my book!

Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara

This is my HG mascara (HG means Holy Grail in the biz). I have not seen more amazing results with a mascara until I found They’re Real! This product packs volume, definition, and length all-in-one. It also does not smudge at all. Now, this is not an everyday mascara just because I find it a little tough to remove. I bring out this puppy for the weekends because I know I will be a little more patient removing it when the night is over (I want to keep as many lashes as possible). I definitely recommend using the Josie Maran Cleansing Oil I mentioned a couple posts ago to remove this.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara

I go between this one and The Rocket during the week because I love them both so much. I find The Falsies gives my lashes a little more curl, so I really like wearing it the mornings to look a little more awake. You can find it at pretty much any drug store, so that’s a plus too!

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Mascara

I find this one very comparable to They’re Real!, just The Rocket being more affordable and not as tough to remove (you can tell I also judge by the way mascaras come off at the end of the day). The Rocket does a great job at lengthening and separating lashes because of its unique brush. I highly recommend you try this one!

Blinc Mascara

I have been waiting for this blog to talk about this mascara. I feel this mascara gets left in the dust on the shelves, and it shouldn’t! This mascara gives very natural results, so I definitely love this one for everyday. But what I really really love about it is how it comes off! It only comes off with warm water, so no smudging at all! I have gone running and gone to the beach with this on, and it doesn’t budge. When you use warm water, it comes off in little pieces. I know it sounds weird but you have to try it! Beat that raccoon eyes!

Hope this gave you girls some guidance on picking up the perfect mascara…let me know what you decide on! Remember to always flaunt those lashes gals!

The Night Crew: My Bedtime Routine

As the day comes to an end, one of last things I look forward to doing is washing my face (with the two face washes I mentioned a couple posts ago) and massaging these wonderful products on my face. Is that weird that I like to massage my face? I don’t think there is any scientific study out there about that, but I figured it couldn’t do any harm either.

I’m a little addicted, in a good way, to using products that will help prevent wrinkles and fine lines ( I know some of you are rolling your eyes right now, but just trust me on this one). I love all these products because they keep my skin hydrated during the night. We sleep 8-9 hours without drinking any water remember? If you’re looking for some yummy products for your night time routine, keep reading and maybe I’ll inspire you ;)

 Aczone:

Ok this product is not always a part of my routine, but I’m going through a little break out and this stuff is a miracle in a tube. This was prescribed to me by my dermatologist when I went a couple weeks ago desperate for a medication that would clear me up and this was it! I highly recommend you ask your derm about it if you are having a little episode like I am.

 Bobbi Brown Hydrating Gel Cream:

This is the perfect topper right after I put on my acne medication. It’s light and refreshing. It’s not too light, not too heavy, ok sounded a little Goldilocks right there. I also use it sometimes right before I put on my makeup as a primer. I highly recommend this! This gel will always be in my life.

 Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins (oil free):

I am currently not using this one as I totally ran out and really miss it. I wanted to give it an honorable mention though as it was a part of my routine almost all of last year. This has THE most delicious smell. It has a super light orange/grapefruit scent to it. You feel like you are literally quenching your skin as you are putting in on. I almost want to go right now and get more, I’m going to hold back as it’s 10 o’clock at night.

 Clinique All About Eyes:

This is a very light and hydrating eye cream perfect for girls in their 20s. It’s not too heavy and applies very easily. I can honestly say I have seen my under eye area a little smoother these days thanks to this. Tip: Make sure to always apply any eye cream or product with your ring finger, it’s the finger that applies the least  amount of pressure around that sensitive area.

 Aubrey Rose Hip Seed Oil:

I read this oil is good for helping old blemish spots fade away. To be honest, I haven’t seen a huge difference since I haven’t been using it too long, but I’m a committed kinda gal, so I’ll keep on truckin’ and let you know! It does smell nice though.

Loccitane Lip Balm and Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm:

No, I don’t put both of them on, but I do alternate just because I love them both so much! The Loccitane Lip Balm is more of a glossy feel and the Nuxe is more of a balmy feel, but they both get the job done. I cannot go to bed without using one of these balms. They stay on all night so your lips feel non-chapped in the AM. Now I know the Loccitane lip balm is  easily available, but the Nuxe one might be a little more challenging since I got it in Paris. But I know if you look online with enough desire, I know you will find it.

 Lush Dream Cream:

Last but not least, the Dream Cream. Isn’t the name itself just perfect for bedtime? This cream is just “dreamy” because it’s made with oils of chamomile, lavender, rose and cocoa butter to make it super delicious for my hands and legs right before bed. I’m usually not a big body cream kinda gal, but this gets a special spot right next to me in bed, get it?!

Hope you gals enjoyed reading about my much loved bedtime products! Let me know what you guys use right before bed!

 Mucho Amor,

 Elyse
